TJ has trained in various martial arts since the age of 14. After 4 years of training, he received his first degree black belt in Taekwondo from Mr. Daniel Adams of Peaceful Warrior Martial Arts in the beautiful hill country of Texas. TJ also trained in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Hapkido during his teens. As a college student, he trained briefly in Shotokan Karate, and co-founded the LeTourneau University Martial Arts Society. In May of 2019, TJ earned another first degree black belt from Shin’s Martial Arts in Moo Duk Kwan Tae Kwon Do to be registered with the Kukkiwon in Seol, South Korea. He then earned his 2nd degree black belt in November of 2020.

While working for the LeTourneau University Police Department as a security guard, TJ learned techniques of defensive tactics from Chief Terry Turner - a 30+ year police officer and military veteran. Always seeking to improve personally, TJ continues to train in Taekwondo and is always looking for new and different training opportunities.
